I understand Iain has been reading this site.
I would like to provide a forum to ask him questions and maybe have him respond. I would like to give Iain the benefit of the doubt and an opportunity to defend himself.
If you have a question e-mail it to me or put it in the guestbook and I will get it posted. (Please no vulgar language or threats). I am going to put things that Iain should know or might want to respond to. Iain, if you actually respond I will put your responses online as well. I am not going to post the retorical questions like how do you sleep at night...
You told me on Nov 8th to "Take down that f'ing website".
The things required to get this f'ing website down are as follows.
1) Payment to all people who worked on our house.
2) A certified cheque for the allowances in our contract that we were under on.
3) Get the Home pro warranty people to put the warranty on our house and have them send us confirmation that it has been reinstated. You know which warranty I am talking about, the one that you said was there, took our money for and then never registered.
4) A certified cheque to cover all the legal bills that we ended up with because of your actions. Amount unknown yet.
5) A certified cheque to cover the power bill that you promised to pay for.
6) Proof that your word is good. The previous 5 items would go a long way showing me that your word is good.
7) An apology that you messed up.
If you have proof that you were not the one at fault and you were screwed please send that as well, or if you truly are working with RCMP to find the people responsible please have them contact me. If there is a criminal investigation under way that might show you were not at fault I will gladly remove the anti-Iain pages.
Questions for Iain.
Why do you have multiple business names?
Who did the forensic audit of your books?
Why are you not defending yourself at all? You keep saying that you were the one screwed but you refuse to say that publicly. What are you hiding?
You owe all sorts of people money who are not pursuing you. What did you do with the cash? The only things that I know of that will eat through that much money are gambling and drug abuse.
One thing I should warn you of Iain is that there is no honour among theives. In talking with some of your employee's both ex and current you should be concerened that they are going to do to you what you did to us.
Iain's current business list
The new Town and country homes international.
Woodwright cabinets. Also doing home renovations.
Woodwright building supplies.

I worked for Iain for a bit, and he was always on his computer. What was he doing?
When caught in his garage at his house, online poker, so I think the majority of his money has gone into gambling. Iain may have his ticket in carpentry, for the things he'd explain were all-true and correct, just he wouldn't follow through with them. His mistakes were more in cutting corners to make things progress faster, but in doing so he'd take us a few steps back. He's just not a good leader or owner, and waiting till 2pm for him to show up to start work with our needed materials, and his constantly bouncing pay-cheques were the reasons I quit. Thankfully, I got my money back, but am saddened that there's still people out there who haven't, and hearing the Garrett's side to the story makes believing, at the time, Iain, Grizz, and Less' word that they are just complaining over little things when they call, over and over, hard to believe. These little things, are really what help to define a live-able and quality house, and I am disappointed in their attitudes. Iain mostly. Mostly because, in his attitude he'll never have a really successful business, as well, the people he tramples in his hurricane or ill-care, scatter-brained-ness, among other things forever carry the scars of broken trust. Despite all this, I am glad I worked for him, for it taught me quite a lot of stuff, and in the proper form (surprisingly). He was generally always open to questions, and it was appreciated, and I would've stuck around if I saw the business heading in a positive direction. By Former Employee - 12/10/2008 2:41 PM

I apologize but I have taken some of the comments down. After discussing things with Tara I have come to the conclusion that I have digressed. THis site is not about bashing Iain, it is about posting our story and warning others. It is also intended to help reduce the risk that it will happen to someone else. I am sometimes so filled with impotent rage at what Iain has done to us that I lose my temper and write things that really have no place here. If you would like to correspond with me via e-mail I would be glad to reply but this website is not the place. The comments that I have seen though concur with the "do not let Iain build your house" theme.

I found some Iainism's on the internet. See if you can spot the spelling/grammer mistakes. I would also like to note the date. Apparently the house building scam was getting old so he is switching gears and starting to make cabinets late last year. You owe hundreds of thousands of dollars to various people, how can you afford a piece of equipment that costs close to $100,000?
from www.thermwood.com\forums by Iain Hall on Wed, Nov 05 2008, 12:05PM In my case the software worked as planned I started with e-cab because I was just getting going and it was free. I have spoken with Andrew and met with him and will be getting a Thermwood CNC in the near future. I brand new to the cabinet software program and have made a desicion that I will try and stick with E-Cab 100% start to finish. When it comes to pricing I have started giving people prelim. drawings and pricing manually I would very much like to be able to price everything in the program. It is alost impossible to get skilled help here so if I could streamline the estimate process so that an employee could properly estimate and render new jobs it would allow me to get in the shop where I belong. As far as the store goes I never used it simply because I could not figure it out. Maybe I am hoping for to much but if I could take a job do it on e-cab and have it spit out an accurate price complete with a list of things to order for each job I would be in heaven. I understand that there are short falls in the program that need to be worked on however if the proposal writer etc. was able to do what I want I am sure you would get a lot more people like me trying to expand or just find a way to spend more time with family. Now knowing what E-Cab. can do I would pay for updates with no trouble as long as they were reasonable however if I saw this at the start I would not have gone with E-Cab. Please excuse me if I sound like dumb green horn ---- I IS Iain any spelling or grammer typeo's are not errors but are designed to add character to this postIain Hall Woodwright Cabinets How do you know when someone is going to say something super smart? They start of with " The cabinet guy told me....." Iain By Kevin Garratt - 1/29/2009 3:58 AM
